35.9% Increase in Capacity and Complete Elimination of Plugging in the Loading Line
Transition Retrofit
PROBLEMS
The conveyor belt feeding system caused frequent material leakage and plugging, limiting the line capacity to 920 t/h. Each plugging event required approximately 7 workers for unclogging and cleaning, taking 6 to 12 hours and resulting in production losses exceeding 11,000 tons per occurrence.
DIAGNOSIS AND SOLUTION
Ucelo carried out a retrofit of the elevator discharge transition, redesigning the feeding system to regulate material flow velocity and ensure proper material direction in line with the conveyor belt movement. The new module was designed for quick and simple installation, solving the problem without replacing the entire existing chute.
Results
- 35.9% increase in line capacity (from 920 t/h to 1,250 t/h)
- Continuous, leak-free operation
- Complete elimination of plugging
- Reduced operational interventions and downtime losses, improving efficiency and productivity
